Secular Buildings

LIVIA has acquired and painstakingly restored a number of historic properties to further the preservation of European culture and heritage. Being diverse in character, location and epoch, the properties range from a Tuscan monastery in the vicinity of Florence (12th century), the regal Hofhegnenberg castle in Bavaria (built between 1155 and 1555 – Frankenberg Castle in Franconia (built c. 1254) – a chivalric Pallazzino in the centre of La Valletta, Malta (built 1699), to a cluster of 16th and 17th century mountain farmsteads in Tirol and the second oldest colony dating back to 1690 in South Africa.

Finally, LIVIA owns one of the most iconic buildings on lake Starnberg, Bavaria. Built in 1912 in the style of a French chateau, a miniature model of the building now forms a centrepiece in the Starnberg museum. In such cases, LIVIA does not expect a high return in the near future, believing instead in an increase in value in the long term.
